I put the final borders on the purple string star quilt this morning. This quilt is for Sydney – who turns 1 in August. Sydney’s big sister, Carly, also got a purple quilt.
(Unfortunately I only have this one unfocused photo of her finished quilt.)
Here’s a slightly better close-up of one of the blocks.
I fussy-cut the toile print so that one animal scene was in each block. A little tedious – but Carly was the first grandbaby of my oldest friend – we met in Kindergarten – and as my children love to remind me, “that was a long, long time ago.”
This second quilt was more relaxed and fun to make – it was more about getting it done than getting it perfect.
The four center blocks.
Once I made a few points, I played around with their placement.
All the points and setting blocks, waiting for the outer borders.
Linking up with crazy mom quilts for finish it up Friday.
